Will negative items come off my credit report automatically after the time limit?

A few delinquent accounts on my credit report will pass the seven year mark in a few months. I have heard that seven years is the limit for these to stay on your credit report, is this true? Also, will they be removed from my report automatically or do I need to do something once the fall off date has passed?

Usually they fall off on their own, but sometimes you have to remind the credit bureaus to remove them.
Typically they come off automatically, but after a month or so and they don’t come off, contact the bureau and request that it be removed.
As far as I know, it should be removed automatically.
It should be 7 years from the time of the last activity on the account. The question is – did you pay off the debt or settle the debt? Also, these guys are right – no matter what – check in with the credit bureaus 60 days after the desired date to ensure that it has been taken care of.
